As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of ability and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers carefully around the board to your home board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player pieces shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at specific times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to move their chips, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely barricade any activity of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s checkers will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if he at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point 11 in your half of the board. After you’ve successfully assembled the prime to block the activity of the competitor, your competitor doesn’t even get to roll the dice, and you shift your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions in hope to improve your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game plan utilizes alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is frequently used when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this technique, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
