The goal of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the Backgammon board and get them off the board faster than your challenger who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game of Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. How far you will be able to move your chips is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and just how you move your pieces are determined by your overall gambling strategies. Enthusiasts use differing tactics in the different stages of a game dependent on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Technique
The aim of the Running Game plan is to lure all your checkers into your inner board and pull them off as quickly as you could. This technique focuses on the pace of advancing your pieces with little or no time spent to hit or barricade your competitor’s checkers. The ideal scenario to use this strategy is when you think you might be able to move your own checkers quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the board; 2) all your chips have moved beyond your competitor’s pieces; or 3) your opponent doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking plan.
The Blocking Game Strategy
The main goal of the blocking strategy, by its name, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, not worrying about shifting your chips rapidly. Once you’ve created the barrier for your competitor’s movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other chips rapidly off the board. The player will need to also have a clear plan when to withdraw and move the checkers that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your opponent uses the same blocking tactic.
