The aim of a Backgammon game is to move your chips around the game board and bear them from the game board faster than your challenger who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a round in Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. How far you can shift your chips is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and the way you shift your chips are determined by your overall playing strategies. Players use differing techniques in the differing stages of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Technique
The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your pieces into your inside board and bear them off as quick as you can. This technique focuses on the speed of moving your checkers with absolutely no time spent to hit or block your competitor’s chips. The best time to use this plan is when you believe you might be able to move your own checkers quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have less pieces on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) your opposing player doesn’t employ the hitting or blocking tactic.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main aim of the blocking plan, by the name, is to block your opponent’s chips, temporarily, not worrying about moving your chips quickly. As soon as you have established the blockage for your opponent’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other pieces quickly off the game board. You will need to also have an apparent strategy when to withdraw and shift the checkers that you employed for blocking. The game gets intriguing when the competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
