As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The aim is to shift your pieces safely around the board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers moving in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific strategies at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon plans to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift her chips, the Priming Game plan is to completely barricade any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s checkers will either get hit, or result a bad position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. As soon as you’ve successfully assembled the prime to stop the activity of the opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you shift your chips and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions hoping to better your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game strategy utilizes seperate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game technique is commonly used when you’re far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
